2 - Working with Life of Colour

How do I use Life of Colour Art Experience Kits?

It’s as easy as open, paint, and display. Each kit comes with a guide or inspiration images to help you get started, but you’re always welcome to follow your own creative flow. Simply:

Set up a clean, flat surface.

Open your paint pens and test them on a scrap piece.

Colour in your surface—stay inside the lines, or not!

Let it dry naturally (typically within 24–48 hours).

(Optional) Seal your artwork with a clear acrylic spray for added durability.

 Do I need to bake anything?

Some of our kits (such as mugs and ceramics) benefit from heat-setting in an oven to make your design more permanent. This will be clearly stated in your kit instructions. For other surfaces like wood or paper, simply air-dry and seal if needed.

Is Life of Colour paint waterproof?

Our pens are water-based acrylics. They’re vibrant, long-lasting, and ideal for indoor use. To make your finished project water-resistant (especially for ceramics, bottles, or anything you’ll handle frequently), we recommend sealing with a clear acrylic spray or resin.

Can I repaint or redo my project?

Yes! If you want to start again, simply use white acrylic paint or a primer to create a blank canvas. Then repaint and reseal. It’s your art—there are no rules.

How do I protect and seal my finished artwork?

Once dry, you can apply a clear spray varnish or acrylic sealer to protect your artwork from handling, moisture, and UV. For functional items like mugs or drink bottles, sealing is essential for durability.
