Mandala Makers Unite!
I bought these for myself, but decided to start meeting with my younger sister and cousins once a month to color these. The three of them would normally never color anything, and they are not creative on a normal basis. We color and visit and we have named ourselves the Mandela Makers because it sounds official, and our families don’t question it because they don’t know what it means. If we told our families that we were getting together to color and visit, the kids would want to come, the husbands would think it was silly and they would make other plans, etc.
There is something about talking when your hands are busy that is freeing. One of my cousins is very quiet and typically does not talk about anything personal, but coloring while talking has really brought her out of her shell and has decreased her anxiety when in a group.
The quality of the boards are amazing and I’m thrilled to have found something to bring our little group together in a unique way.
