Before you order

Good questions.

Do I need to buy paint pens separately?
Not if you pick Advent + Pens. That box comes with the classic acrylic paint pens, which is what we use on the engraved wood. Pick Advent only if you already have acrylic paint pens at home.
I have never painted anything. Will it look bad?
The pattern is already engraved into every piece, so you are colouring inside lines rather than starting from a blank surface. The booklet shows one way to do each day, and there are step by step video guides on our learning site.
Is there any glue or building involved?
No glue. Every piece slots into the base board. The only thing you plug in is the USB fairy lights, on day 12.
How long does each day take?
Most days are 20 to 40 minutes of painting, plus drying time. You can also do two days in one sitting if you fall behind, nothing is spoiled.
Can children do it?
Yes, and plenty of adults do it on their own. It works well as a shared activity: one person paints the houses, another paints the characters and gifts.
When will it arrive?

What are the lights?
A set of warm white USB LED fairy lights, included in every box. They run the length of the village and plug into any USB port.
